Champlin is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota. The population was 23,089 as of the 2010 census. The name Champlin came from the family name of U.S. Navy Commodore Stephen Champlin. He was active in the war against England and Canada in 1812, and in the establishment of the Canadian–United States boundary. Champlin played an important part in the rise and development of flour milling in Minnesota in the late 1800s.

Champlin Historical Society – The Champlin Historical Society is committed to preserving Champlin’s rich history through the accumulation of stories, memorabilia and photos. Residents are encouraged to visit the Dunning School, which was built in 1876 and is still standing today.
Father Hennepin Festival – The Father Hennepin Festival takes place annually during the month of June. Local residents can witness a reenactment of the Crossing of Father Hennepin, who is a man from the community, chosen for his love of Champlin.
