Mahtomedi is a city located in Washington County, Minnestota with a population of approximately 7,767. Located between St. Paul and Stillwater, the city of Mahtomedi is considered to be one of the suburbs in St. Paul. The city name originated from the Dakota for White Bear Lake – ‘mató’, meaning the grey bear, and ‘mde’, which means lake. One of the longest establishments in Mahtomedi is a post office, which still remains in operation today on Wildwood Road.
